Description:
One long white structure undulating around the columns of this cathedral of New York underground.

Inflatable structures as immersive spaces present visitors with the rare opportunity of being surrounded by a space made of a single material. To the extend that plastic replaces pixels, bubbles are the physical equivalent of virtual reality. Snake explores and augments these disorienting characteristics as its curved corridor further deprives the visitors of qualitative apprehension of place.

Temple Grandin's invention, the "stairway to heaven" is a spiral ramp that utilizes optical illusions to lead livestock calmly from the pen to the bolt gun, and ultimately, to a less painful and more humane death. Grandin has a unique cow-empathy, coupled with the desire to intimately understand the death experience (to learn more about stairway to heaven, read Fast Food and Animal Rights - Kill Them With Kindness on American Radioworks).

Although Snake was inspired by stairway to heaven, to my knowledge no animals or humans were hurt during the Shotgun Wedding.
